LABORATORY PROCEDURES FOR ANIMAL & HUMAN CELL LINES

REFERENCE NO: AHC/1998/4/2.1/1

TITLE: DISTRIBUTION OF CELL LINES

  1. Cell cultures are distributed either frozen in plastic ampoules on dry ice ("frozen culture") or as growing cell populations in flasks or tubes ("growing culture").
  2. Shipments are sent early in the week (usually on Mondays and Tuesdays) to ensure arrival before the following weekend.
  3. Due to the elaborate handling, the price for growing cultures is higher than for frozen cultures.
  4. We suggest ordering frozen cultures which are usually sent out 4-10 days after receipt of the complete order. However, for certain destinations outside Europe we must ship cells exclusively as growing cultures.
